Potty Training Videos For Boys
Got a Potty Training question…..?
My 3 and 1/2 year old son, who has ADHD (yes, he was diagnosed by 4 different psyciatrists) is having problems going the “# 2″ in the toilet. Although he isn’t having any problems going “#1″ in the toilet (even doing it all by hinmself)….it seems like he doesn’t feel comfortable doing the 2 yet. We tried everything (from videos…help…etc). One individual told us it takes time…particularly with boys in general…for this to happen. We do positive reinforcement to assist him…but we are out of ideas. He’s a bright young child….but this is the only thing that is alluding him. I know he’s really supposed to be potty trained by now…..but we are worried.
Any thoughts or ideas?

Some children need privacy while they poop. My daughter who is also 3 1/2 (July birthday) wants to be alone. I have books next to the toilet in a basket and when she climbs up there she asks me to shut the door. Maybe he can’t poop if you are sitting right there next to him watching? It is worth a try.
I wouldn’t worry to much until he goes to school. Alot of kids, expecially boys, have trouble. Another suggest would be, have him sit to pee every time, instead of standing and aiming. I think that is why girls are easier, they are all ready sitting on the pot.
He doesn’t have to be pooty trained by now. You may be feeling more pressure from society and family than your son is ready to handle.
We have a small seat that sets on our larger Toilet Seat that our daughter uses. She HATED the small Potty Chair! she always said it made her butt hurt. Plus, if he is going poop in there….. it may not be deep enough, and he doesn’t like how it feels if it hits bottom.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know your troubles. Except it was with my oldest, who was into middle school before he stopped wetting the bed. Doctor said some kids just sleep to hard to wake themselves up.
